Keith Yandle’s NHL record ironman streak in jeopardy!
The Flyers can’t do this to him!

The Philadelphia Flyers are hosting the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday and a significant lineup change could take place for the crowd favourites.
According to insiders attending practice on Friday, veteran forward Keith Yandle’s NHL record ironman streak could end at 989 consecutive games seeing that he is skating on the fourth defensive pairing ahead of the matchup against the Maple Leafs.
Yandle was absent from the skate on Thursday after he was reportedly sick, but was back Friday only to find himself on the extras.
The 35-year-old blue liner is just 11 games away from reaching 1000 games and that’s without the impressive record of the 982 consecutive contests played on NHL ice.
Couldn’t the Flyers let him reach a 1000 straight games before putting him on the shelf?
Arizona Coyotes’ Phil Kessel is now breathing down his neck as he passed broke his tie with Doug Jarvis, playing his 965th game in a row to earn the second-longest “ironman streak” in NHL history on Sunday.
Yandle’s ironman streak was also in jeopardy when he played for the Florida Panthers when a report had come up that he could be a healthy scratch for one of the games. He however dressed that night and scored a goal, proving his worth and the importance of his record.
Let’s hope it does not come to an end on Saturday.
