This is just dangerous.

Los Angeles Kings young forward Adrian Kempe unleashed a vicious hit to the head of Boston Bruins' center Riley Nash, on Saturday night. Even though this truly deserves a penalty, the referees didn't even bother sending Kempe to the box.

Take a look at the sequence:

Boston insider Jimmy Murphy was absolutely disgusted after this hit, implying the NHL isn't committed to protecting its players:

Kempe was selected in the first round of the 2014 NHL draft by LA. He recorded two goals and six points in 25 games last year, but is one of the Kings' best player this season: he scored six goals and nine points in just 10 games.

We'll have to wait and see if George Parros and the Department of Player Safety will issue a suspension for this hit.

More details to come...
