Kevin Bieksa names his 26 picks for Team Canada's roster.
Bieksa names the 26 players he wants to see representing his home country of Canada.
Last week former National Hockey League player Kevin Bieksa gave his co-panelists on Hockey Night in Canada a good bit of grief for the players they nominated to represent Canada at the NHL's upcoming Four Nations Face-Off in 2025, and that meant that this week it was Bieksa's turn to unveil his picks for Team Canada.
On Saturday night, Bieksa did just that when he nominated 26 players that he would select to represent his home country of Canada at the upcoming tournament. In total Bieksa nominated 15 forwards, 8 defensemen and 3 goaltenders to his roster, although he didn't do so without a good bit of grief from his co-panelists who had been waiting to pick apart his selections.
Here are the 26 players nominated by Bieksa:
Forwards:
Crosby-McDavid-Hyman
Marchand-MacKinnon-Bedard
Marner-Barzal-Stamkos
Lowry/Wilson-Scheifele-Reinhart
Extras: Horvat, Suzuki
Defensemen:
Toews-Makar
Morrissey-Dobson
Rielly-Doughty
Theodore-Pietrangelo
Goalies:
Skinner
Montembault
Fleury
Bieksa of course went through an explanation for his choices and detailed why he was picking certain players, although again he did so with plenty of criticism coming from his co-hosts. It's also pretty funny that, despite being critical of the picks made by others earlier, Bieksa couldn't even narrow down his top 4 lines to 12 players and had to add a caveat to his bottom 6.
Do you agree with Bieksa's picks? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
