KHLer confirms he will be signing with NHL team.

A talented Kontinental Hockey League defenseman has confirmed he will be coming to the National Hockey League.

According to Russian hockey reporter Igor Eronko, he has been personally informed by Viktor Antipin directly that Antipin will be signing a new contract with the Buffalo Sabres in the coming days, a move that has been rumored for roughly a week now.

The news came just hours before the KHL announced that it was behind by 1 billion rubles on player salaries, and that furthermore some player salaries were up to 6 months behind on payments. 

Antipin's former team Magnitogorsk Metallurg was shut down as part of that announcement, and it's hard not to draw a parallel between these two pieces of news today.
