They call him Kirill the Thrill in Minnesota for a reason, as he's one of the most exciting young players in the game today and a huge factor in the success of the Minnesota Wild.

Kaprizov played a big role in Minnesota's 5-3 home victory over the division rival and visiting Edmonton Oilers last night at Xcel Energy Center, scoring a goal and adding two assists, continuing a stretch of strong play of late. So, what's the secret?

“More energy,” Kaprizov joked Thursday after his latest three-point performance.

“It’s nice we’ve put together wins and scored goals and do well,” the smiling Kaprizov continued.. “Parents here, (so) it’s fun. Coming to game, how I play, how team played, a lot of food.”

With his performance last night against the Oilers, Kaprizov extended his personal point streak to nine, along with setting a franchise record with an assist in nine straight games.

You're certainly not going to perform at an optimal level if you're not well fed, and it sounds as though Kaprizov is making sure to be!

“It’s the same work ethic every single night with this guy. Like every single night he works like that,” coach Dean Evason said of Kaprizov. “Sometimes, he’s going to hit the wall because he’s playing 20 minutes. … We understand that. But he drives himself and drives himself and wants to lead the team by his work ethic.”

The Wild are back in action tomorrow afternoon against the visiting Anaheim Ducks.
