The Boston Bruins are back on the ice today as they resume their Round Robin Series today against the Tampa Bay Lightning and, just as you might expect, the sparks are flying between two of the best teams in the NHL. After all, the divisional rivals are both Stanley Cup favourites, so you just knew that today's game would have a little extra emotion.

To that end, Lightning forward Blake Coleman fired up the emotions with a bit of a dirty blindside hit on Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo.

Check it out:

Carlo, who has a history of concussion issues, seemed shaken up on the play but has stayed in the game. His defensive partner Torey Krug though, well... let's just say that the usually affable Krug didn't take too kindly to the hit. The five foot, nine inch, 185 pound Krug immediately dropped the gloves with Coleman, despite giving up about three inches and 20 pounds in the tilt.

And... wouldn't you know it, Krug actually did pretty well for himself.

Check it out:

Nicely done!

While no one is going to mistake Krug for Milan Lucic anytime soon, you have to respect the dude for stepping up and defending his teammate like that. Much respect to Torey Krug.
