Krug goes ballistic, earns 16 penalty minutes and gets tossed from the game!

The St. Louis Blues defenseman completely loses his cool and racks up multiple penalties in just moments.

I don't know that I've ever seen St. Louis Blues defenseman Torey Krug look quite this angry.

On Sunday night, Krug and the Blues took on the Winnipeg Jets, but it would be an early trip to the showers for Krug who took issue with the National Hockey League officials on the ice.

Krug received a well-deserved roughing penalty after roughing Jets forward Kevin Stenlund, but what he took issue with was the fact that he received a double minor for his infraction. Immediately after Krug realized that he received 4 minutes instead of the normal 2, he exploded inside of the penalty box. Although I can't know for sure who Krug was directing his ire at, it seems clear it was one of the officials given what would come next.

As Krug smashed his stick into the protective glass around the penalty box, the officials on the ice awarded him an additional 2 minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct, a 10 min misconduct, and a game misconduct. A combined total of 16 minutes of penalties awarded to Krug in the opening period of tonight's game courtesy of NHL officials Brandon Blandina and Ghislain Hebert.

I don't think it was any accident that Krug threw his helmet on the ice and left it for those same officials to pick up.

Here's a clip of Krug going ballistic in the penalty box:

Blues insider Jeremy Rutherford provided a rather hilarious summary of the ridiculous penalties Krug received tonight:
