This just in Boston Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy has confirmed that defenseman Torey Krug will miss tonight’s game against the Florida Panthers after suffering an injury in Sunday’s 3-2 shootout loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. Rookie Urho Vaakanainen will take Krug’s spot in the lineup.

Check it out:

Prior to Sunday’s game, Krug had been putting together a solid campaign this season. Krug has  two goals and 13 points in 17 games played. Not bad. He has logged 350 minutes on ice so far this season, ranking third among all Bruins players behind Charlie McAvoy and Zdeno Chara.

As for the 20 year old Vaakanainen, he has played in two NHL games in his career and will make his 2019-20 NHL debut this evening. The 20 year old  has played in 15 games this season for the AHL’s Providence Bruins, putting up just two assists. The Finnish blue liner was selected by the Bruins in the first round (18th overall) of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
