Kyle Clifford snaps and attacks opponent in handshake line.
Kyle Clifford lost his cool on Sunday, attacking Bokondji Imama during the handshake line.
I have to believe that Toronto Marlies forward Kyle Clifford is going to be in some serious trouble for his actions on Sunday.
Clifford has drawn a ton of criticism from fans on social media after he refused to honor the tradition of the post-series handshake line on Sunday, instead attacking Bokondji Imama of the Belleville Senators.
Thankfully for both Clifford and Imama there wasn't much of a fight before the officials that were standing by during the handshake line quickly stepped in and separated the two men.
Although Clifford is getting all of the blame here I do have to wonder what it was exactly that set him off during the handshake line. Clifford, while shaking hands with his opponents, suddenly jerks his head back in the direction of Imama as if something had caught his attention before going after the Belleville player.
The American Hockey League is currently investigating comments made by Imama earlier in this series, and I wonder if that incident may have played a factor in the one that took place today.
