Kyle Dubas reveals his plans for Penguins free agents.

There seems to be only one man Kyle Dubas wants to bring back next season.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are heading into one of the most interesting offseasons for that franchise in many years, thanks in large part to a clear shift in direction from the team that starts from the very top with president and general manager Kyle Dubas.

Dubas has already signaled a drastic shift this summer by parting ways with long time Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan and reading between the lines on some of his recent comments suggests that he will do much of the same when it comes to the team's pending unrestricted free agents.

Dubas was recently asked about some of his notable unrestricted free agents headed to the open market in just a few short weeks but when it came to the likes of Matt Grzelcyk, Dubas was non committal and suggested that those decisions would be made during the team's scouting meetings.

That suggests to me that Dubas won't be looking to resign the likes of Grzelcyk, Matt Nieto or Joona Koppanen, but there was one notable exception. Dubas went out of his way to make it clear that one pending unrestricted free agent would be welcomed back if he so desired, and it may very well have been the player most fans would least expect.

"With Boko, we made it clear to him and his agent that we'd like to bring him back," said Dubas as per Taylor Haase. "It's just a matter of whether we can work something out with Alan Walsh and Boko."

Boko Imama appeared in just 16 games for the Penguins this past season but it seems that Dubas believes the NHL enforcer brings something to the table that his team sorely needs. Imama had a single point last season, a goal, although he did also spend time with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League as well.

Only time will tell if Imama and his agent are interested in returning to the Penguins as well.
