Las Vegas having trouble getting it's name.
Yesterday information was leaked suggesting that the Las Vegas franchise had settled on a name for it's club, the leak came right off the heels of the appointment of George McPhee as the team's new general manager.
However according to a report from NBC Sports it now sounds like those reports, suggesting the name would be the Las Vegas "Knights" may have bee premature. According to Las Vegas majority owner Bill Foley the team is currently having some legal issues when it comes to getting the names they like due to existing trademarks.
“We have a lot of names in mind, but a lot of the ones I really liked are trademarked, so that’s a little bit of an issue,” Foley said Wednesday. “I’m happy to take any suggestions anyone has for a name, particularly one that’s not already trademarked.”
It's unclear what the back up options would be for a name if "Knights" is in fact not made available to the franchise.
