Last minute trade attempt for Elias Pettersson!

Could this get done before the deadline today. Check it out down below:

Vancouver Canucks’ Elias Pettersson may finally be getting back on track, but that hasn’t taken his name out of trade talks. The Canucks are still listening to trade offers for Pettersson and now a contender has jumped in following devastating injury news.

Earlier this week, the New Jersey Devils lost the services of their star forward Jack Hughes long term and could target a major chip on the block and pull off a blockbuster trade.

Pete Blackburn on the What Chaos Podcast believes the Devils could go after Pettersson.

Unfortunately for Pettersson, who already had to deal with a very public feud with former teammate J.T. Miller, he is in the midst of the worst season of his career. He has just 11 goals and 34 points in 55 game in 2024-25, a steep drop from the past two years over in which he recorded 191 points in 162 games.

Pettersson is also in the first year of a massive $11.6 million per season contract. It runs for seven more years after this one, and he has a no-movement clause, which kicks in on July 1. That’s why moving him before today’s deadline might be the Canucks’ best option.
