Latest comments from Bruins’ Elias Lindholm leave fans pissed in Boston!
What he said in an interview back home has fans wanting him to put his money where his mouth is. Read below:
Elias Lindholm’s first season with the Boston Bruins was disappointing. However, the star forward does not see it that way and, in a recent interview with Uffe Bodin, Lindholm made comments that only frustrated fans in Boston even more.
“We were probably one of the best lines in the league,” Lindholm said of his line with David Pastrnak and Morgan Geekie.
The statement angered fans seeing that the Bruins missed the playoffs and made significant trades that notably sent captain Brad Marchand out of Beantown.
In comments on the post, fans are calling out Lindholm saying that if he had not struggled out of the gate, the Bruins might have had a chance at the postseason and being buyers at the deadline instead.
However, Lindholm did acknowledge his struggles at the beginning of the season, and surely hopes to build up from there with Pastrnak and Geekie for 2025-26.
“I had a bit of a rough start to the season with an injury that wasn’t ideal,” Lindholm said. “Then toward the end, I got a great opportunity to play with (Morgan) Geekie and ‘Pasta’ (Pastrnak), and we were probably one of the best lines — if not the best — in the entire league. So I came here with good confidence.”
Lindholm, who ended the campaign with 14 goals, 13 assists for a total of 27 points in the last 25 games, is looking to use the World Championship boost to his advantage. He led the tournament with eight goals and finished second in scoring behind Bruins teammate Pastrnak. But fans in Boston still remember how he only posted 17 goals and 30 assists in 82 games after signing a seven-year contract worth $7.75 million per season with the Bruins.
Lindholm is adamant that he is focused on training and working at help the team go deeper as soon as the 2025-26 campaign gets underway.
