We are just three weeks away from the trade deadline, and there is a lot of the Chicago Blackhawks’ plate at the moment. Captain Jonathan Toews has been given a list of teams interested in possibly acquiring him ahead of the March 3rd deadline, and Patrick Kane is aware that both the Dallas Stars and New York Rangers are hoping to trade for him. However, Kane said he’s still undecided on what he wants to do before the deadline and admitted that he’s thought about the possibility of playing with a team other than the Hawks.

On Tuesday night during Insider Trading on TSN, Pierre Lebrun provided the last update when it comes to Kane’s next move after speaking with his agent.

“The news is this: the clock is ticking, and I spoke with agent Pat Brisson on this on Tuesday and he said a decision is coming, quote, “relatively soon”, end quote. Which makes sense given we are just over three weeks from the trade deadline. That decision could be whether he’s comfortable in being traded from Chicago, or that he wants to stay put for the rest of the year and figure out his future in the summer. The other thing that Brisson added was that teams that are interested in Kane and make the short list will have seven-to-10 days ahead of the deadline to prepare themselves for a possible transaction so we’re getting there when it comes to Kane and he holds all the cards.”

Kane, who has played his entire 16-season NHL career for the Blackhawks, has mentioned in the past he’d be interested in the rebuilding taking place in Chicago, however, he may want another chance at the Stanley Cup before he hangs up the skates.

So, how soon is “relatively soon”?
