The Toronto Maple Leafs continue to get younger.

After the Leafs announced yesterday that Matt Hunwick was headed to injured reserve, they had an open roster spot, and as a result they have reportedly called up Nikita Soshnikov to their National Hockey League roster.

This will be Soshnikov's second crack at the National Hockey League after he appeared in 11 games for Toronto last season, where he showed he could produce in the NHL recording two goals and three assists over that stretch.

Soshnikov was signed by former Leafs general manager Dave Nonis in March of 2015, and while Nonis isn't a popular figure in Toronto, this will likely go down as one of his good moves, picking up Soshnikov as an undrafted free agent, aka at no cost for the Leafs.
