Leafs coach Mike Babcock spotted scouting at playoff game.

Head coach Mike Babcock drew some eyeballs this week when he was spotted scouting the Western Conference Finals between the Nashville Predators and Anaheim Ducks.

TSN's "Leafs Lunch" featuring Bryan HayesCraig Button & Jamie McLennan revealed that Babcock had been in attendance, and while they initially debated as to why Babcock was scouting for the Leafs, the eventually agreed that he was likely looking at Anaheim's defense.

There is a belief that the Ducks, who have incredible depth on the blue line, will have to give up one of their defenders or risk losing him to the expansion draft. That could mean a golden opportunity for the Leafs to improve their blue line and it could be the motivation behind Babcock's visits.

The Leafs Lunch crew did not speculate on which defenseman the Leafs could be looking to move on, but this is a story that will likely get a lot more attention follow the Ducks playoff run.
