Leafs confirm the worst regarding Ryan O'Reilly
He'll be good for the playoffs... but how effective will he be?
HockeyFeed
In case you missed the news this past weekend, the Toronto Maple Leafs lost the recently acquired Ryan O'Reilly from their lineup due to a finger injury suffered in the Leafs' loss to the Vancouver Canucks.
Yesterday the Leafs announced that O'Reilly would be out of the lineup for awhile, moving him to the long-term injured reserve. Today, the team announced that O'Reilly underwent surgery on his finger and will be out of action for the next four weeks.
This would make O'Reilly eligible to return for the Leafs' last week of the regular season and would get him approximately three or four games of action before the playoffs start. The 32 year old center has three goals and five points in eight games since joining the Leafs, bringing his season total to 15 goals and 24 points in 48 games split between the Leafs and the St. Louis Blues.
