Leafs fan nails insane/depressing prediction for 1st preseason game.
A Maple Leafs fan expected his team to disappoint him on Sunday night and he was right.
A Toronto Maple Leafs fan has just pulled off an incredible prediction, and unfortunately for him it isn't the kind of prediction that you want to be right about if you are indeed a fan of the Maple Leafs.
The prediction comes to us courtesy of '@mostleafies' on social media platform X, with the Maple Leafs fan making a prediction about a goal that would be scored against his team this evening. What makes the prediction so spectacular is the fact that there was so much detail to the prediction, making it seem that much more unlikely to come to fruition.
First here's a look at what he predicted:
I won't be watching tonight but I've scheduled a tweet for 7:43 pm about a Max Domi OZ turnover on a forced pass to the middle, Ottawa scoring off the rush, the camera panning to William Nylander, and Craig Simpson opining about "growing pains." Please like when you see it
Now he wasn't exactly correct, but the amount of details that he did nail in his prediction were simply nothing short of outrageous.
The first goal scored by the Ottawa Senators, who did not ice their regulars against the Maple Leafs on Sunday night, did indeed come off the rush and was indeed caused by a Max Domi turnover in the offensive zone. In fact Domi would turn over in the offensive zone twice, with the first turnover being recovered by the Maple Leafs before Domi would lose the puck again.
And sure enough, the Senators would make the Maple Leafs pay off the rush.
Did the camera pan to Max Domi after the goal? No it did not.
Just as '@mostlyleafies' had predicted in his tweet, which was sent out at 10:34 am on Sunday morning, the camera panned over to William Nylander as he skated back to the bench after the Ottawa goal.
All that '@mostlyleafies' was missing here was the comment at the end from Craig Simpson, who unfortunately did not oblige by mentioning any "growing pains."
Nonetheless, this was a truly insane prediction and a rather unfortunate one for both this user and his favorite National Hockey League team.
