There were a couple of eyebrows raised amongst Toronto Maple Leafs fans when it was announced by head coach Sheldon Keefe who would be sitting for tonight's game after his latest lineup shuffle.

Veteran defenseman Morgan Rielly will be watching tonight's game at FLA Live Arena in Sunrise from the press box as the rest of his teammates take on the Florida Panthers. Meanwhile, it will be T.J. Brodie and Luke Schenn slotting back into the lineup. Brodie missed his team's last game, a 7-2 setback against the New York Islanders, with an undisclosed injury. Meanwhile, Schenn was scratched after having played on consecutive nights on Friday and Saturday.

"Rielly will rest tonight and that'll allow us to use the other seven guys and try them in some different spots. I just think it's important here, especially with a busy schedule," Keefe explained. "Rielly in particular has just come off playing five games in nine nights so I think having the depth and the health on defence allows us to do some different things at this portion of the schedule while also keeping a lot of guys involved.”

The veteran Leafs blue liner has scored four goals to go with 32 assists in 55 games played this season.
