Leafs goal initially waived off, but coach's challenge tells a different story.

A great challenge by Babcock.

The Toronto Maple Leafs came out hot in Game 1 of their first round Stanley Cup Playoff match up against the Washington Capitals but their momentum was almost halted by a rather poor call from NHL officials.

Defenseman Jake Gardiner appeared to score Toronto's second goal in the first half of the first period, but the goal was almost instantly waived off for goaltender interference.

Almost as quickly that call was challenged by head coach Mike Babcock and it was clear from the video replay that there was in fact no interference from Leafs' forward Nazem Kadri.

Here's the replay.
