The Toronto Maple Leafs wanted to prove that they could make it work without goalie Frederik Andersen, but fell do so and fell to the New York Rangers, 5-3 on Wednesday night. That’s probably why they proceeded to a late night trade to acquire Jack Campbell and Kyle Clifford from the Los Angeles Kings…

Zach Hyman also fell to prove that he could handle a fight when he had to drop the gloves with Rangers blue liner Jacob Trouba.

Trouba did not appreciate when Hyman pushed him from behind into the boards in a very dangerous manner. As soon as he got up, he went for the Leafs’ forward. While Hyman did not refuse the invitation, he appeared lost on what to do and got pummelled by Trouba.

Check it out:

This was Hyman’s second fight of the season, he who dropped the gloves with Rangers’ Neal Pionk at the start of the calendar. Apparently, he has a thing this season for getting in trouble with Blue Shirts.

The Leafs’ forward was not penalized for the hit from behind. Hyman did not look good in this fight against Trouba, who gets the clear win.
