Leafs lose Jake Muzzin on just Day 2 of training camp

The injury bug bites the Leafs nice and early this season.

Toronto Maple Leafs insider Mark Masters is reporting that Leafs defenseman Jake Muzzin will be out of training for at least a week as he is experiencing back pain.

Ironically, it was just yesterday that Muzzin reported to media that he was feeling great following a relatively injury plagued season last year.

Apparently all it took to tweak something was one casual skate with the boys... if I'm a Leafs fan that has to make me feel nervous.

After all, the Leafs' blueline already looks a bit shaky. Rasmus Sandin still hasn't signed a contract for the upcoming season and Timothy Liljegren is expected to miss the entirety of training camp. With Muzzin now out of the picture the core Leafs' defence group includes just Morgan Rielly, TJ Brodie, Justin Holl and Mark Giordano.
