The Toronto Maple Leafs have a good problem on their hands, an abundance of talented young prospects looking like they are or may soon be ready for the National Hockey League.

On Thursday it was revealed that Toronto's 4th round draft pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. 20-year-old Adam Brooks, was named the Western Hockey League's player of the month. From the Regina Pats official announcement:

The Western Hockey League announced today that Regina Pats forward Adam Brooks has been named the WHL Player of the Month for November 2016.

Brooks, a 20-year-old product of Winnipeg, MB, registered 26 points (4G-22A) in 10 games to help the Regina Pats go 7-2-1-0 in the month of November, maintaining their standing as the No. 1 team in the CHL Top-10 Rankings.

Since returning from Toronto where he participated in training camp with both the NHL’s Maple Leafs and their AHL affiliate Marlies, Brooks has shredded the WHL, registering points in all 17 games he has suited up for.

With the Leafs stacked with prospects on the wing it's not hard to imagine how a player like Brooks could be of great benefit to the team in the long-term, assuming of course that his smaller size doesn't provide a roadblock for his path to the NHL. It is however one more reason for fans in Toronto to be excited about the future of their team.
