The AHL has announced that Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Brad Ross has been suspended for 20 games following a positive drug test. Ross released a statement via the PHPA:
“I truly want to apologize to the entire Toronto Maple Leafs organization, my teammates, friends, family, and fans for violating the terms of the AHL/PHPA Performance Enhancing Substances Program,”
This marks the second time a member of the Leafs organization has been suspended for PED use, Carter Ashton was suspended for 20 games earlier this season for what he claims was the accidental ingestion of an oral steroid via an asthma inhaler. Brad Ross is 22 years old and has 7 points, 4 goals and 3 assists, in 21 games with the Marlies this season.
