Kasperi Kapanen, from the Toronto Marlies scored the golden goal for team Finland in the World Junior Hockey Championships in the final game, clinching the gold medal on home ice.

Kapanen took the puck from the boards and worked his way to the net and capitalized on a collision between a Russian defender and his goaltender to score on a beautiful wraparound goal.

The last time Finland won the gold medal inhume ice was in 1998.

Kapanen was acquired by Toronto from the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Phil Kessel trade.
