He's been missing from action.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been without the services of several key blue liners for big chunks this season, including the likes of Jake Muzzin, Morgan Rielly, and T.J. Brodie.
The good news is that Rielly has returned to action. And now it appears that Brodie, who has been out of action since early January, is trending towards returning as well.
"They had told me to expect it to be about two weeks," Keefe told the media Monday after the morning skate. "He's trending that way. He might've got on the ice for a little bit today...He's been progressing."
Already in the third season of the four year deal he signed prior to the 2020-21 NHL season, Brodie has scored two goals and six assists in 28 games played this season with the Leafs. He had already missed a total of 12 games earlier this year thanks to having suffered an oblique injury.
