We have a very interesting rumor coming out of Russia on Tuesday.

According to a report from Russian hockey expert Igor Eronko, the Toronto Maple Leafs may be looking to acquire one of the Kontinental Hockey League's young forwards, specifically Vladimir Tkachyov of Ak Bars Kazan.

Tkachyov has had a strong performance this season in the KHL recording 20 points in his first 29 games of the season and it's believed that it is that performance that now has the Leafs eyeing him as a potential option as a bottom six center for their organization.

No word on how close the Leafs are to making this a reality, but they've gone after and have acquired numerous players from the KHL already in the past, so don't be surprised if this move gets made.
