Leafs' rival claim Sammy Blais off waivers
The Leafs lose a veteran forward to a divisional rival.
This just in, the Montreal Canadiens have claimed forward Sammy Blais off of waivers from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The 29 year old Blais had been solid in 8 games for the Leafs so far this season, scoring 1 goal and 3 points. The Leafs had hoped to sneak him through waivers and down to the AHL's Toronto Marlies, but the Habs had other ideas evidently.
