Leafs/Sabres game impacted by 'extreme weather' on Saturday.

Extreme weather causing problems.

The Buffalo Sabres fan base will have to deal with less of a show than they were expecting if they tune in to tonight's game between the Buffalo Sabres and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In spite of the fact that we are still hours away from the start of the game this evening, the Buffalo Sabres have just announced that they will be unable to produce both their usual pregame segment, which airs before the start of the game, and the post-game segment that would normally air after it's conclusion. According to an official announcement from the Sabres, the extreme weather conditions in the state of New York at the moment are responsible for this sudden and unexpected change.

From the Sabres:

Due to extreme weather conditions in Western New York, we are unable to produce a pre- and post-game show for tonight's Sabres at Leafs game.

The game broadcast will begin at 7 p.m. EST on MSG. We hope everyone is staying safe and we thank you for your understanding.

At this time there has been no indication of any further cancellations on the part of the Sabres but we are still roughly 5 hours away from the official start of the broadcast at the time of this writing, which means that things could still change.

There have been reports of a historic snow storm in the state of New York, with some areas reportedly being hit by over 6 feet of snow in a short period of time. This has led to driving bans, canceled flights, and the closing of roads so the Sabres are certainly not unique in their struggles here. It seems that this is indeed an extreme weather event and hopefully it won't have any further impact on tonight's game.
