The Toronto Maple Leafs may already have a strong group of young forwards but that doesn't mean they are taking their foot off the gas peddle.

TSN insider Darren Dreger is now reporting that the Leafs have engaged in preliminary talks with Swedish forward Carl Grundstrom their second round draft pick (57th overall) in the 2016 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

Grundstrom has spent the entire 2016-2016 season playing for Frolunda HC of the Swedish Hockey League where he has put up 12 goals and 3 assists for 15 points in 31 games.

Dreger believes that he could be playing for the Leafs as early as next season, or worst case scenario will be playing for their American Hockey League affiliate the Toronto Marlies.
