A leaked image of a new Oilers jersey is causing a very negative reaction.
The Edmonton Oilers may have a problem on their hands.
A viral image has been making the rounds on social media, one that purports to show what would be an early leak of a new Oilers jersey, presumably their third jersey, and the image has received an overwhelmingly negative response from fans on social media.
The image was shared on social media platform X by Oilers Nation contributor Golden Era Hockey, and it is an admittedly low resolution and poor quality image of what appears to be an Oilers jersey suspended on some type of hanger.
The jersey consists of the Oilers traditional colors of purple, orange and white but gone is the Oilers logo on the front of the jersey. Instead of that logo we simply have a stylized writing of the team name "Oilers" on the front and, as I've already mentioned, the reaction to this alleged leak has not been positive so far.
First let's have you take a look at the leaked image for yourselves:
Now to be fair not everyone hates the jersey shown in the leaked image, with some fans giving it a positive review despite recognizing that they are in the minority.
Most fans however have responded with negative reviews, here are just a few examples of those responses:
Of course it's worth noting that this image may have been leaked intentionally to gauge the response from the fan base before making any kind of official announcement, but if that is not the case than the Oilers organization may be in for a rude awakening when they officially unveil this jersey to their fans.
Do you think it's as bad as it is being made out to be? Would you go so far as to call it good as others have? Let me know all of your thoughts on this one in the comments.
