Lehner welcomes Eichel to Vegas, while also embarrassing him with ridiculous “Unicorn” photo
Um... you've got some explaining to do, Jack...

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender and outspoken social media darling Robin Lehner officially welcomed an old teammate back into his life yesterday, getting together with his team's latest acquisition Jack Eichel for dinner at Vegas' famed Cosmopolitan.
Check it out:
Eichel, of course, was acquired from the Buffalo Sabres by the Golden Knights last week in a blockbuster trade that saw Eichel and a 3rd round pick shipped to Vegas in exchange for Alex Tuch, Peyton Krebs, a 1st round pick and a 2nd round pick. And while the price of acquisition was steep, it's safe to say that Vegas fans are excited to see what their team looks like with a certified #1 stud at the center ice position... once Eichel recovers from experimental neck surgery, that is.
Eichel's trade to Vegas also happens to reunite him with Lehner, as the two played together for the Sabres from 2015 until 2018 when Lehner moved on to the New York Islanders. While the duo didn't share much success together during those years in Buffalo, it's clear that they established a bond that has carried over to all the way to 2021 and beyond.
I mean... they must be good friends, because how else can you explain Lehner absolutely selling out his buddy on Twitter by sharing a ridiculously cringeworthy photo of him from his college days?
Check out this photo of a young Eichel in a regrettable Unicorn Halloween costume from his freshman year at Boston University:
Yikes, yikes, yiiiiiikes.
I'm not here to shame anyone if this is the sort of thing they're into but... I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Eichel regrets some of the decisions he made in college. After all, who amongst us doesn't? In all seriousness though, it's somewhat heartwarming to see both of these former Sabres reunited and poking fun at themselves a bit. While each player has had different struggles in their respective careers, I always pull for someone to come out better on the other end of things regardless of their obstacles. Hopefully Eichel can get his career back on track in Vegas the way Lehner has.
