Leon Draisaitl makes hilarious t-shirts for Connor McDavid’s 1000th point and fans immediately want to buy it!

On Thursday evening, superstar Connor McDavid scored a goal to record his 1,000th career point in the Edmonton Oilers’ 3-2 overtime win over the Nashville Predators. Leon Draisaitl fed McDavid on a 2-on-1 break and the captain ripped a one-timer past Predators goalie Scott Wedgewood to collect the 1,000th point of his career. Teammates rushed to the ice to celebrate with McDavid as the crowd in Edmonton went wild.

After the game, the Oilers kept celebrating in the team’s dressing and had the perfect outfit for it. That’s because the club provided players with a special t-shirt made in McDavid’s honour and posted some videos and images of them wearing it on social media.

Draisaitl is the one that came up with the idea and the picture and made sure the shirt was ready for the celebrations.

“I didn’t make them myself, and I’m not going to share that information [where taken] it was a couple of years ago. I didn’t make them myself, but I was the guy to send out the picture and then Brad Harrison our equipment manager takes it from there. He’s good with stuff like that."

As soon as the t-shirt was showcased, fans wanted it. It quickly went viral and now you have to wonder if the Oilers will put it out for sale for fans to get it and proudly wear it.

Playing in his 659th game, McDavid became just the 99th player in NHL history to hit the magical 1,000 points plateau for his career. He became the fourth-fastest player ever to reach the milestone – trailing only Wayne Gretzky (424), Mario Lemieux (513) and Mike Bossy (656). At 27, he also became the fourth-youngest player ever to reach 1,000 points.

“Just seeing the way the players reacted means the world to me. It means everything to me,” McDavid said after the game. “To hear the fans, that stuff means more to me than any of the numbers. It was a really special moment.

“These milestones are a great time to reflect and look back. It’s been a good 10 years and hopefully 10 more good ones.

“Some of these things have kind of hit me a little more emotionally than I would have thought.”

Not sure the t-shirt is one of those things, but that’s a very sweet attention to celebrate McDavid as he deserves it.
