Linesman catches punch from Chiarot intended for Greenway.

Buffalo Sabres forward Jordan Greenway gets saved from a potential sucker punch by linesman Ben O'Quinn.

A bit of a tough one for Detroit Red Wings Ben Chiarot who is clearly frustrated early in the period.

Chiarot was lucky to get away without a penalty after he did everything he could to go after Buffalo Sabres forward Jordan Greenway on Saturday, with linesman Ben O'Quinn perhaps being the only thing that prevented Chiarot from actually doing any damage.

Chiarot, who was frustrated with his team on a 7 game losing streak and down 1-0 at the time, had enough of the antics from the Sabres early on and made Greenway the target of his wrath after a stoppage in play. Greenway, a much bigger man, laughed off the attempts at provocation from Chiarot but in spite of that Chiarot dropped his gloves and was prepared to throw hands.

In fact Chiarot did throw a punch at the unsuspecting Greenway, who had given no indication that he was willing to engage Chiarot in a fight, only to have the aforementioned Ben O'Quinn snatch Chiarot's arm mid swing and prevent him from doing any damage.

No penalties were called on the play.
