Logan Mailloux could land back in controversy thanks to Vanessa The Sunwing Flight Vaper

At the start of 2022, a group of wayward Quebec influencers and reality television stars was floundering in Mexico after their mid-air, mid-COVID debauchery on a Sunwing flight to Cancun made headlines across Canada. Amongst them was Vanessa Sicotte, an aspiring pilot who became known as The Sunwing Flight Vaper and eventually gained notoriety as an influencer on social media. She even made further headlines last year with a staged car accident…

On Wednesday, she was trending again, this time for the comments she made about Montreal Canadiens prospect Logan Mailloux, who came to the team with his own controversy.

Mailloux was selected 31st overall back in 2021 when the Canadiens picked him despite the fact that he had renounced himself from the draft. Mailloux had been criminally convicted in Sweden in 2020 for sharing a photo of a woman performing a sex act without her consent. Though he personally claimed that he “hadn’t demonstrated strong enough maturity or character” to be drafted when eligible, the Habs still picked him.

He was then suspended indefinitely by the OHL after news of the incident broke and reinstated by January of 2022. This past season, he broke out for 25 goals and 53 points for his London Knights’ blue line and ended up playing in the Memorial Cup.

He will now fight for a spot on the Canadiens’ roster, but we want to advice him to stay away from Sicotte, who made a video on TikTok in which she stated that she has a huge crush on Mailloux, especially after meeting him at Lasso Festival. This is the video, in French, in which she explains that she felt a connection with Mailloux when she headed backstage to ask people questions for her vlog. 

It wouldn’t be the first time that a fan has a crush on one of the Canadiens’ players, but this would make many cringe… Sicotte however admits that she doesn’t know how to approach Mailloux. In her video, she explains that she feels uncomfortable about the stories that have been circulating about her following the SunWing debacle and how it could make Mailloux hesitate to communicate with her.

Let’s just say that Mailloux has had enough media attention in the last few months and should focus on his career instead of Sicotte’s crush…
