It's been a good start to the season for the Detroit Red Wings, and while there has been plenty of goal scoring, it was a massive hit on Saturday night that still has the fans talking.

Forward Lucas Raymond, who added a few pounds of muscle over the summer and netted his first goal of the year, made a significant physical impact during the first period by sending Tampa's Michael Eyssimont flying head over heels into the Red Wings bench:

However, Raymond isn't walking around and challenging anyone physically to prove that the massive hit wasn't a fluke.

“It was kind of a tough spot for him,” Raymond said. “Distance-wise, just on the boards, maybe not ready for it. But hey, I can’t complain.

“It was a nice hit. I’ll take that.”

But you can bet that he's heard plenty of it from family and friends, all of whom were impressed!

"Yeah, a little bit," Raymond said of people close to him talking about the hit. “I’ve seen it a couple of times. It’s more friends joking around, guys in here, too....They didn’t know I had that in me. No, it’s fun.”

Can we expect to see more big Raymond bodychecks tonight when Detroit faces the Pittsburgh Penguins? Because there's nothing that Little Caesars Arena would love to see more than a certain Penguins captain getting leveled into the bench!
