Big roster move made today.
The Detroit Red Wings are officially welcoming forward Jakub Vrana back into the lineup, having recalled him from the American Hockey League affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins.
However, the not so good news is that in a corresponding move, forward Lucas Raymond has been placed on Injured Reserve retroactive to February 10. He was hurt when he collided with teammate Ben Chiarot in practice earlier this week, and was originally considered day to day.
Raymond has skated in 50 games this season, scoring 15 goals with 18 assists. Meanwhile, Vrana has one goal in the two games he's played in. Tomorrow night will be his first NHL action since October 15 against the New Jersey Devils; he would enter the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program shortly afterward for an undisclosed personal issue.
The Red Wings take on the Oilers tomorrow night from Rogers Place starting at 9:30 PM EST.
