Luke Schenn has been traded yet again!
Just a few days after being acquired in Pittsburgh, the defenseman is moved again. Full details below:
Luke Schenn is on the move again.
The Pittsburgh Penguins, who a few days ago had acquired the blue liner from the Nashville Predators, are flipping Schenn to the Winnipeg in return for a 2026 second-round and a 2027 fourth-round picks.
He did not get a chance to play for the Penguins after Wednesday's trade as it was clear that GM Kyle Dubas' plan was to move him again for picks and tools for a rebuild in Pittsburgh. Schenn came along with forward Tommy Novak for Michael Bunting and a 2026 fourth-round pick.
Schenn has been in Nashville since 2023 — his seventh NHL team over his 17-year NHL career.
He spent considerable time with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Philadelphia Flyers and Vancouver Canucks. In 61 games this season, he has one goal and five points.
Schenn has one more season at a $2.75 million cap hit.
