Luongo crashes beer-league game after team posts 'goalie needed' ad on Facebook
Imagine you show up to your Tuesday, 9pm ice time and there's a Hall of Famer in net...
How can you not love Roberto Luongo?
The Hall of Fame goaltender has spent the entire offseason celebrating the Florida Panthers' Stanley Cup victory from this past season, but he's making sure to get in his ice-time too.
The former Panthers, Vancouver Canucks and New York Islanders goaltender recently crashed a Florida beer-league game after the team posted online that they were desperate for a goalie. Rumor has it that the team was desperate for a substitute goalie so they posted in a local Facebook group seeking a fill-in goalie. Luongo apparently saw the ad and replied that he'd show up. The result? a 4-2 win for Bobby Lu's team against the five time defending league champions. Let's gooooo!
Check out the moment that the boys found out that Luongo was between the pipes for them:
I love Luongo's reaction. "Hey, we need some defense, okay? Let's play some defense tonight."
What an absolute BEAUTY!
