MacKinnon snaps at reporter after loss to Finland, walks out of interview

The Canadian forward was NOT feeling it...

Trevor Connors

In case you missed it yesterday, Team Canada dropped a shootout decision to Team Finland at the IIHF World Championships and... well... Nathan MacKinnon is pretty pissed about it.

Immediately after the game MacKinnon was interviewed by reporters and stormed out of the interview after accusing one particular reporter of cheering against Canada due to his presumed Finnish nationality.

Here's the entire exchange courtesy of Finnish publication Ilta-Sanomat:

Interviewer: What did you think of the game?

MacKinnon: Their goalie (Juuse Saros) played great.

Interviewer: Were you surprised at how good Finland was in the end?

MacKinnon: Their goalie was great, yeah.

Interviewer: Where you the better team in your mind?

MacKinnon: Yes.

Interviewer: So in your opinion was the goalie the only reason Finland won?

MacKinnon: Yes, that's what I think

Interviewer: What did you think of the referees?

MacKinnon: Horrible

Interviewer: Why?

MacKinnon: How would have they been good? What do you think?

Interviewer: I was asking you.

MacKinnon: Terrible calls. For both ends. We had the puck the whole game, but we only got one powerplay. So I don't get it.

MacKinnon: You must be from Finland or something.

...and then MacKinnon walked out of the interview.

If it's any consolation, Canada managed a 5-2 victory over Sweden earlier today. No need to get in a huff over this one, Nate Dogg.
