The projected first overall pick at the NHL Draft was on the floor of the NHL combine on Saturday.

It seems a forgone conclusion that 19 year old Canadian forward Macklin Celebrini will be the first player selected at the 2024 National Hockey League Entry Draft, but in spite of that Celebrini still has to go through the same process as every other NHL hopeful ahead of the draft.

That's why on Saturday Celebrini was on the floor of the NHL's scouting combine, an event in which NHL teams are able to test a prospects physical fitness as well as their psychological and mental fitness through a battery of different exercises and questions.

By all accounts it would appear that Celebrini is blowing through the physical challenges being placed in front of him, with video of him breezing through the exercises already making its way online. In the short video below you can see Celebrini tackling the pull up exercise and making it look easy, taking his time and fulling extending for each repetition.

Although Celebrini has to go through the same process as every other prospect, his process may be uniquely challenging this year. The young Canadian star is being hounded by cameras and microphones everywhere he goes, which should come as little surprise given that he will be the star of this year's NHL Entry Draft.

None of this is likely to come as much of a shock to anyone with Celebrini being universally projected to go first overall for good reason. Nonetheless all of this is a good sign for the team that will be drafting him, the San Jose Sharks.
