Macklin Celebrini makes bold proclamation about his next contract.

The San Jose Sharks fan base likely already feels extremely fortunate to have a young star like Macklin Celebrini on their roster, but the young phenom and cover star of the National Hockey League's latest video game, NHL 27, has just given his fans yet another reason to be excited.

This past week Celebrini was doing media for the release of the NHL's new game when he was asked a very difficult question about his financial future. Celebrini was put on the spot when he was asked if he would consider taking less money on his next contract, as mentors like Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby and Colorado Avalanche star forward Nathan MacKinnon have in the past, and Celebrini admitted that it was indeed something he would have to seriously consider.

"Yeah, 100%. I mean that's why all of us play," said Celebrini in an interview with ESPN. "We want to win. We're competitive and we want to win. Obviously, guys want to get paid -- as they should, because you've got to make a living. There are guys that deserve those numbers that are getting them, but of course you want to put your team in the best spot possible where you give a team the ability to make moves necessary to win. I think all that goes into the decision."

It was an incredibly mature response from a young man who only just turned 20 years of age, but perhaps that should come as no surprise. Not only has Celebrini been mentored by some of the biggest and most well respected stars in the game, but he has already experienced a great deal in his young career. Celebrini's experience in both the NHL and in international hockey have clearly given him an appetite for winning, and that's great news if you're a fan of the San Jose Sharks.
