Macklin Celebrini rookie card hits outrageous price at auction and sets new record.

It seems as though the legend of National Hockey League phenom Macklin Celebrini is growing larger and larger by the day, and stories like this are certainly only going to add to it.

Celebrini can put yet another feather in his cap this summer after it was unveiled that his one of one 2024-25 Upper Deck Young Guns Outburst Gold #451 Macklin Celebrini Rookie Card sold for over a million dollars at auction.

The price tag of $1,281 million establishes a new record for the public sale of a hockey card that does not feature The Great One, Wayne Gretzky. That means that Celebrini's rookie card has exceeded the value of every other card excluding a few unique cards featuring the greatest player to have ever lived.

The announcement was made by the Goldin Co., a company that specializes in high end collectibles. The card was sold during one of the Monthly Sports Elite Auctions and is likely to hold the record for some time.

Celebrini has not only established himself as one of the best young players on the San Jose Sharks but one of the best young players in the entire NHL, cementing that with an absurd 45 goals and 70 assists for 115 points during the 2025-26 season which was just Celebrini's second season in the NHL.
