Major accusations against PWHL leadership
Some troubling news on the brand new professional women's league.
HockeyFeed
This just in, Professional Hockey Writers Association (PHWA) president Frank Seravalli has slammed the PWHL (Professional Women's Hockey League) for failing to provide media members with adequate access to cover the sport.
The PHWA asserts that the PWHL has "handpicked" reporters in order to provide coverage in a favorable light. In particular, the PHWA claims that the PWHL does not value independent coverage and is actively denying establish reporters and publications from gaining access.
The full press release announcement:
To be perfectly frank... this makes a ton of sense.
Literally the only coverage I see of the PWHL is from Ian Kennedy of The Hockey News and from the bloggers over at The Ice Garden. Seravalli? Nope. Elliotte Friedman? Nope. Darren Dreger? Nope. Chris Johnston? Nope.
Honestly, I'm very curious to see how this all plays out. The PWHL hasn't exactly shown itself to be savvy with PR in its inaugural season. Stay tuned.
