The Flames are facing the decimated Los Angeles Kings tonight in California but they will face them with an injury of their one. Kris Versteeg tweaked his groin, fortunately there's no muscle tear in his case according to Roger Millions. Versteeg is expected to miss a couple weeks of action.

In the meantime, head coach Glen Gulutzan decided to split the Monahan/Gaudreau duo as Monahan will pivot a line with Michael Ferland and Alex Chiasson while Gaudreau will play with Sam Bennett and Troy Brouwer. It is hard to identify a first line on this new lineup and it might be a good idea from Gulutzan to scatter his firepower against the Kings and Drew Doughty.

Brian Elliott is expected to be in net tonight.
