The Winnipeg Jets may get a huge helping hand in Game 7, although nothing is official as of yet.

On Saturday, Jets head coach Scott Arniel shared some surprising news when he shared an official update on Jets star forward Mark Scheifele just one day before the 7th and deciding game of the Jets' opening round Stanley Cup playoff series against the St. Louis Blues.

Scheifele has been out of the lineup since Game 5 of this series and was very limited in that contest having played just 8 minutes and 5 seconds of actual ice time before leaving the game. Scheifele was not available for Game 6 in St. Louis which turned out to be a blowout in favor of the Blues, so getting him back for a Game 7 scenario would be a huge boost to the Jets lineup.

Scheifele could be seen taking a spin on the ice today, a sign that he is making progress in his recovery.

So much progress in fact that head coach Scott Arniel is now calling him a game time decision for Game 7, leaving open the possibility of a huge return for the Jets.

Scheifele left Game 5 after being on the receiving end of this hit from Radek Faska.

Now only time will tell if he will indeed be back in time for Game 7, but this is certainly a positive sign from the perspective of the Winnipeg Jets today.
