The Toronto Maple Leafs are going through it right now when it comes to injuries, and unfortunately Monday came with nothing but bad news.

Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube spoke with members of the media on Monday and shared a variety of updates on a number of players, with nearly everything coming from Berube falling under the banner of bad news.

It began with an update on Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews, with Berube confirming to reporters that Matthews has not been on the ice since being injured. Matthews was injured a little less than a week ago in a game against the Boston Bruins, so his continued absence from the ice is definitely not a good sign.

Matthews was at least already injured however, which wasn't the case for Maple Leafs forward Nicolas Roy who is now also sidelined due to an injury. Berube informed reporters on Monday that Roy would be out due to an upper body injury, with the head coach adding that there is no timeline for Roy's return at this time. The only thing that Berube did confirm was that Roy will not play when the Maple Leafs take on the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday.

Berube also indicated that there is no timeline for a return when it comes to injured Maple Leafs defenseman Brandon Carlo, rounding out a day of bad news with a little bit of bad news for the Maple Leafs blue line as well.

Stay tuned for more updates on this banged up Maple Leafs roster.
