Maple Leafs make emergency call up moments before puck drop.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled a player on an emergency basis just moments ahead of tonight's game.

According to an official announcement from Leafs public relations, rookie defenseman Mikko Kokkonen has been called up on an emergency basis.

Kokkonen has no NHL experience under his belt and it is unclear whether or not the Leafs intend to deploy him. Kokkonen has spent all 17 of his games this season with the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies and he has 2 goals and 2 assists for a total of 4 points over those games.
