The Toronto Maple Leafs pulled off a significant trade on Friday night, acquiring forwards Ryan O'Reilly and Noel Acciari from the St. Louis Blues in a three way trade deal that also included the Minnesota Wild. As you might expect a move of this magnitude will necessitate a number of adjustments to the Maple Leafs roster and on Saturday morning, Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe and general manager Kyle Dubas provided a number of updates on the Leafs roster going forward.

The Leafs have now officially moved veteran goaltender Matt Murray to long term injured reserve but Dubas confirmed on Saturday that he is content with his goaltending tandem moving forward. Dubas made it clear that he does not intend to make a move on the goaltending front, indicating that he is confident in Ilya Samsonov, Joseph Woll, and even Erik Kallgren moving forward.

Coincidently the Leafs called up the aforementioned Kallgren today with Samsonov currently sidelined with an illness. The Leafs are hopeful that Samsonov will be available tomorrow when the Maple Leafs take on the Blackhawks, but no guarantees on that front.

In another move that comes as a response to yesterday's trade, the Leafs have also sent both Pontus Holmberg and Wayne Simmonds down to the minors in order to make room for their new acquisitions.

In what was no doubt the biggest news of the day, the Maple Leafs have also confirmed that both Ryan O'Reilly and Noel Acciari are currently on their way to Toronto and will be playing in tonight's game against the Montreal Canadiens.
