Maple Leafs playing mind games with Bruins ahead of Game 7.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are intentionally trying to make things as confusing as possible.

The Boston Bruins and the Toronto Maple Leafs are set to clash in the final game of their opening round Stanley Cup playoff series with Game 7 set to take place later tonight, and unsurprisingly there are already some mind games afoot.

Perhaps the biggest question coming into tonight's game will surround the health and status of Maple Leafs star forward Auston Matthews. Matthews missed both Game 5 and Game 6 due to what is believed to be some type of illness, but if there were to be any clues about Matthews' status for Game 7, the Maple Leafs made sure they didn't get out ahead of the game.

Although Matthews did return to the ice for practice for the first time since Game 4 on Saturday morning, the Maple Leafs went out of their way to make sure that no one from the Bruins could glean any additional information from that appearance. The Maple Leafs did away with the multi-coloured jerseys at practice, making everyone look uniform regardless of who will play tonight, and kept things short for everyone which of course also included Matthews himself.

I suspect these mind games will continue right up until the teams hit the ice for warm ups, which is when you can expect an update on tonight's lineup.
